 yakuake doesnt show #s 3 - 8

So in yakuake I can type 1,2,9,0. and no numbers in between. Even when I use the on screen keyboard, it doesn't allow 3 - 8...

Thats obviously kind of a bad thing, any help would be really appreciated.

How to Install KDM on KDE4

I use Kubuntu Karmic.
There is no KDM Manager in the system.

I couldn't find howto install KDM into KDE4.
I found it myself and wish to share.

Download and extract KDM theme to

Edit file /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc.
For example I installed Glassified theme.

So I take care about these variables:

P.S. Feel free to add it to your instructions.

Good luck.

you can easily install KDM themes via gui:

systemsettings -> Advanced -> Login Manager -> Theme

or directly :
sudo kcmshell4 kdm

 Trouble installing an icon

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.

I am trying to change the Kmenu icon on my Arch + KDE 4.4 to the following:

I followed the instructions to the point but the widget on the panel still has the basic KDE image. However, if I right click > application launcher settings, it shows the new Arch icon.

No amount of removing/re-adding the widget, switching to a different icon theme and back, rebooting or logging out/back in helps.

Anyone knows what might be the issue here?

It's probably because of the icon size.
Try replacing the kmenu icon for every icon size with the new one.

 KDE4 and KPPP

Are any of you using KDE4 and KPPP?

If so, how did you get it to work?

I've used KPPP for years with Suse v10.0 and have had no problems but now ...

... most aggrivating!

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
